Rewind: The best of cricket's biggest tournament

Leaving behind the infamous 2007 world cup, the other three world cups over the last twelve years have been very successful and entertaining. The last world cup in the Carribean is indeed unforgettable, but for wrong reasons. As far as cricket is concerned, it was a big flop. Here are the montage video collection of the other three world cups(1996, 1999 and 2003). The memories are fresh and evergreen. Just take a look at the videos, do a quick rewind of your memories and tell me which world cup was the best according to you and why?

1996 World Cup – The most colorful world cup of the other three which was held in the sub-continent. Though India made it only till the semi-finals, this remains as my personal favorite.

Picks of the tournament : 1. India vs Pakistan (Quarter finals) at Bangalore, India

2. Kenya vs West Indies at Pune, India

3. Australia vs West Indies (Semi finals) at Mohali, India

Tournament Sensation : Aravinda de Silva (Sri Lanka) , Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) and Sachin Tendulkar (India)

1999 World Cup - A complete package of many nail-biting contests. India progressed upto the super six stage.

Picks of the tournament : 1. Australia vs South Africa (Semi finals) at Edgbaston, England

2. Zimbabwe vs South Africa at Chelmsford, England

Tournament Sensation : Lance Klusener (South Africa) and Neil Johnson (Zimbabwe)

2003 World Cup - India's second best perfomance in world cups. It was a pretty good tournament except for the poor show in the finals.

Picks of the tournament : 1. India vs Pakistan at Centurion, South Africa

2. Canada vs West Indies at Centurion, South Africa.
(For Davison's magnificient 60 ball-hunderd)

Tournament Sensation : Sachin Tendulkar (India)

I feel the 1992 world cup was the best, for one that was the first time i started watching cricket. It was also pretty colorful being the first worldcup under flood lights. The australian grounds also give a wonderful feeling about watching cricket.Im actually eagerly waiting for a world cup to be held in australia...
