Kuselan Fantasies - II

After successfully completing the slogan contest, we geared up for another event to celebrate "Kuselan" and the friendship day, which happened to be on 3rd August this year. Madras Café, a South Indian restautant in the bay area agreed to sponsor the event. Since 'Kuselan' is a movie about friendship, we decided to capitalize on the 'friendship day' and do something innovative. Asusual, Mahesh Srinivasan took care of all the arrangements for a slideshow, friendship bands, etc., We distributed pamphlets at the theatre where "Kuselan" is screened and on 2nd August, the event kicked off.

I was there at 6pm, and started the 'Kuselan slideshow'. Many people came to me and requested to play the trailer. We distributed free friendship bands to everybody who visited our stall. Most desis around the area were keen to grab the frienship bands and as prompted by their typical 'desi' mentality, some of them requested for more frienship bands for their friends and some of them requested for some other color. The highlight was, when we gave a frienship band to a girl, she demanded for three more, saying "I have three friends". Even I have dozens of friends. Come on!! Huh!

To my surprise, the Americans didnot know about "friendship day" and when we explained about it, they were kinda surprised. I went to watch 'Kuselan' for the 5th time, straight from the restaurant after completing the event. Watched the movie with my friend and we exchanged our wishes at 12am and I gave him the frienship band.

Watching 'Kuselan' on Friendship day with one of the best buddies and presenting him a frienship band - A perfect way to celebrate frienship! It doesn't get any better than this.
