A Wednesday

This film is an uncharacteristic bollywood flick and definitely one of the best movies that I’ve watched in recent times. I’ve seen so many movies in the past which have real good theme and start off well, but will have so many unwanted additions in the screenplay just for the sake of increasing the run time and ultimately fail to create an impression. Thanks to the debutant director Neeraj Pandey for making this movie a 90 minute package of intense thriller, with no songs and no unwanted additions.

A cat and rat race between an anonymous mastermind, planning for bomb attacks in five different locations in the city and the police department - This is the plot of the movie and it wouldn’t be fair to even discuss the outline of the movie in detail as I watched the movie without knowing a bit and enjoyed every bit of it. Truly, this movie’s charm lies in its unraveling.

There is no doubt that the superlative performances of Nasseerudeen Shah and Anupam Kher have helped this film a lot, but we should give the credits to the director for the brilliant screenplay. I have seen a lot of movies which are based on terrorism, like “Mumbai Meri Jaan”, but this is way too good for the impact it creates and its thought provoking nature. The climax was too damn good. The common man’s sufferings have been well conceived and depicted in a radical manner, which makes it a must-watch movie.
