Are we cowards ?

My blog page has been sleeping for quite sometime. When I volunteer myself to write about some good topic, I find it really difficult. But now, I'm pushed to a situation where I should somehow find an outlet to pour my anger and agony. An e-mail I received from one of my friends, kindled the flames of fire burning within me. It was about the paintings of M (most). F(Filthy). Hussain. I was shocked to see his obscene paintings of our Hindu Deities. All our Gods and Goddesses are projected naked with disgusting postures. It makes me furious to read and see the paintings of this cheap chap. He is very clever that he has not portrayed his wife and family members in the same light. Only the Hindu deities got the nude treatment. You can visit to this link and see those filthy works of that bastard....

http://www.sanatan.org/en/05/Protests/MFHusain/paintings1.php

Now, answer my questions honestly:

1. If the same kind of depiction of Prophet Mohammad or his 'n' number of wives has been made by a Hindu, what would've been the level of agitation on their part?

2. What is the reaction of the Islam community in this issue, which couldn't even allow Sania's short skirt?

Well, if he had portrayed Prophet Mohammad or his 'n' number of wives in the same way, his p***s would've been cut by this time! This is not the first time the Hindus and their sentiments are getting assaulted. As Hindus are mild and numb, people like Hussain are exploiting the situation. Why is that Hindus bear humility and don't revolt? If Hinduism has to be revived from the prevailing grim situation, we have to awake real hinduism in the heart of each and every hindu. Now-a-days, Anti-Hinduism is termed as secularism and the politicians are getting fruits of it.

Not every citizen in the country can go to the border to safe-guard the country and that is the reason why military is formed. The RSS (Rashtriya SwyamSevak Sangh) and VHP(Vishwa Hindu Parishad) are here for the same reason. They protect Hindus and Hinduism. But, they are often projected like militant troops by the politicians. Without these organizations, the Hindus who are already weak with their voices couldnot protest against any anti-hindu activities.

The time has come for all Hindus to step up and demonstrate that Hindus are stronger than ever before. If we don’t do something the situation is going to get worse. If we don’t respond, it will be a progressive degeneration. You can sign a protest form against M.F.Hussain's paintings which is available in the link mentioned above.

People reading this blog, may think that I do not respect other religions. I respect other religions too, but I'm very clear about one thing - HINDUTVA is here to stay. I will not compromise anything in this regard (I think no Hindu will) . India may be a secular state but it is a Hindu nation.

Jai Hind...!

The Festive Mood

The festive mood is on, right from the beginning of this month. Starting off with the Navaratri festival, this festive season has reached the final stage. Only a few days to go for Diwali - probably the biggest Hindu festival which is celebrated all over India.

People living in cities like Chennai, lead a materialistic life. They have developed a habit of doing things in the same way they live - be it carrying out an ordinary task or celebrating festivals. They do it, just because they are supposed to do it.

Festivals symbolize our tradition and culture. Though the festivals are celebrated these days, they are not given the spiritual importance they deserve. They are just treated as holidays. Most of the people living in cities either don't celebrate at all due to lack of time or do it for the name sake. This doesn't happen in small towns. They celebrate the festivals with full commitment. The kids will be involved in the celebration and they’ll get to know about the importance of the festival.

Diwali - the festival of lights is considered as a festival which symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. The lighting of the lamps represents a way of paying obeisance to God for attainment of health, wealth, knowledge, peace and valoured fame. Besides celebrating it with its own rituals and myths, Diwali is considered as a festival which gives – Holidays, New dresses, Delicious Sweets and a lot of special TV Programmes. People are glued to their TV sets watching the special programmes. Children don’t even come out to burst crackers. I’ve seen this happening in cities. It is certainly not the kid’s mistake.

Diwali is projected as a shopping festival. Shopping gets the prime importance among people. People show a great interest to buy new dresses, sweets and crackers which is quite understandable. But, all possible consumer products are put up on discount sale. Even very common things like plastic mugs, buckets are put up in Diwali Sale! I could hardly find any connection between Diwali and plastic mugs. Nothing could escape the Diwali sale – safety pins, pencil, rubber, mugs, slippers, chairs, furniture sets, mobile phones, computers, television sets, AC, fridge, washing machine, mixie, grinder, computers, bikes and even cars.

Festivals are to bring people together and to make them forget all their worries. On the other hand, people should realize the importance of festivals and celebrate them with full involvement and enthusiasm. Importantly, the kids growing up in cities should be taught about the significance of our festivals and give them a healthy knowledge regarding what our culture is all about.

Wishes for a happy, colorful and safe Diwali…!

Swadeshi

The forwarded e-mails drive me crazy! Most of them cool stuffs, a few serious ones
and a very few good ones that makes me think. I got one such forward from one of
my pals some time back. It was about the indian economy, which is dipping due to
the dominance of foreign products in our domestic market. Preventing foreign
products from entering our domestic market is not within the limits of possibility
any more. Our economy is in our hands. If we try to change ourselves, we can
certainly change the fortunes of the indian companies atleast to some extent.
Here is the list of alternatives that can be used....

Bathing Soap
Use - Cinthol and other Godrej brands, Santoor, Wipro, Shikakai, Mysore Sandal,
Margo, Neem, Evita, Medimix, Ganga, Nirma bath, Chandrika.

Instead of - Hamam, Park Avenue, Le Sancy, Lux, Lifeboy, Rexona, Liril,
Dove, Pears, Palmolive, Camay

Toothpaste
Use - Neem, Babool, Meswak, Promise, Vicco Vajradanti, Prudent, Gopal, Dabur Products

Instead of - Colgate, Close up, Pepsodent, Cibaca, Forhans, Mentadent, LG Cliden

Toothbrush
Use - Ajay, Promise, Ajantha, Classic and Prudent

Instead of - Colgate, Close up, Pepsodent, Forhans, Aquafresh, Oral-B

Shaving Cream
Use - Godrej, Emami and Vicco

Instead of - Gillette, Nivea, Palmolive, Park Avenue, Old Spice

Razor
Use - SuperMax, Topaz, Lazer, Ashoka

Instead of - Wilkinson, Gillette, 7'o Clock

Talcum Powder
Use - Santoor, Gokul, Cinthol, Wipro baby powder, Boroplus

Instead of - Axe, Ponds, Old Spice, Denim, Johnson baby powder, Yardley, Shower to Shower

Shampoo
Use - Velvet, Lakme, Nirma, Dabur Vatika

Instead of - Clinic Plus, Head and Shoulders, Sunsilk, Halo, Ultra Doux

Milk Powder
Use - Indiana, Amulya, Amul

Instead of - Everyday, Milkana, Anikspray, Milkmaid

I tend to be impulsive at times and as a result, I've decided to put this in practice.
Actually, I'm waiting for my Cliden toothpaste to get over! Usually, my impulsion
fades away as the time goes on... For instance, my new year resolution was to
give-up biting nails, but I got reminded of it only when I started writing this article.
But, seriously I don't want it to happen in this case.

The reason for the mega success of the foreign products is the marketing
strategy they adopt. Regardless of the quality, they present their products to the market with some lucrative brand names and logos and they come up with impressive
advertisements over all. On contrary, our Indian brands bear some archaic names and follow ancient style of advertising.

Just think of the Vicco turmeric advertisement.... It is an element of comedy, which is unchanged for several years and probably the only advertisement which was screened a maximum number of times. Amongst them, the Vicco beauty cream advertisement is the height of inanity. Hope u people remember..... Three girls going to a superette, each taking one beauty cream and applying it all over their horrible faces, with a dream sequence follwing each one of them. This kind of stupid advertisements will never encourage the buyers, but irritates them. To compete with the giants, the Indian companies besides maintaining the quality, must attract the customers by making some drastic changes in their marketing strategies.

BE INDIAN, BUY INDIAN

The Bluetooth Device...!

"Expect the Unexpected"

- This is what I would like to say to all people reading my blog. This blog is an anticipated outcome that is intended by my planned action. Yes, I've been planning to write something informative, for quite sometime. I know that it is an unusual stuff from me, but still the time has come now and sorry homes, please bear with me...

The Bluetooth Wireless technology is the latest and most widely used now-a-days. I remember, in my seventh semester(if i'm right) I had a paper called "Mobile Computing" in which , I read about this. That was very boring and vague that time, but when it comes to practical learning, it is always interesting. I purchased a Sony Ericcsson k700i mobile recently which has the bluetooth facility in it. Driven by curiosity, I started exploring it to the core and the ultimate result being..... this blog!

Bluetooth is a short-range connectivity standard, which is basically used to transfer data b/w two devices. ie., A computer and a computer(provided bluetooth is attached), a computer and a mobile and vice-versa. It does not involve in any alteration or removal of data from the devices. Bluetooth in a mobile is in-built and in pc's, you can use a Bluetooth USB Dongle (just as you use an IrDA port in case of Infra-red). It looks quite similar to a flash memory drive and it can be connected in the USB port. In case of Windows 98/2000, drivers has to be installed for it and if you are using windows xp, drivers will be automatically installed. Once your computer recognize the dongle as "Removable Disk", then the stage is set for usage.

How is it different from Infra-red???

Data transfer via infra-red is possible only if the two devices are kept in very close proximity with each other. But, the bluetooth can transfer data within a range of, say 10-15meters. Moreover, infra-red supports wide range of standards ie., if u attempt to transfer an image from one mobile to another via infrared, it may not be possible, because both infra red ports might have adopted different standards. Bluetooth adopts a universal standard and this aspect makes it successful than any other wireless technology.

To connect your mobile with your computer, "pairing" has to be done initially. From the pc, you can search for the bluetooth devices available nearby. After the search is over, your mobile's name appears on the screen(provided you turn on bluetooth in your mobile) and then you can pair it with your pc. The pc asks a four-digit number as "passcode". You can type-in any four digit number and press enter. Then, your mobile informs you that a particular pc is attempting to establish a connection. If you allow it, then ur mobile prompts you to enter the passcode. The same four-digit number has to be entered here too, which successfully connects both devices.

From now on, you can simply transfer images, sounds, movies, etc., both to and from your pc and mobile. You can explore the folders of ur mobile from the computer now and all options like cut, copy and paste are possible. For instance, you can delete a file from the "Picutres" folder of your mobile phone without even touching it! Itz all possible with the pc. This is the reason why pairing is done during the connection process, just to assure security. Now-a-days, a lot of viruses are entering the mobile phones via bluetooth. So, it is always better not to entertain any anonymous data coming in.
P.S. Turning on bluetooth reception in your mobile phone will consume a lot of power. So, don't keep it on for a long time.

Plz. unleash your comments or queries.....I'll try my level best to answer them.

Dada Anymore or Dada Nomore ???

I would always love to blog about cricket. Cricket is not just my favourite sport....it is my passion. I often involve in some serious analysis about the game with my friends. Our analysis will be very deeper and more technical at times than the Gavaskars and the Boycotts....! Thanx to all my friends for helping me to know the game better.

DADA ANYMORE OR DADA NOMORE???

Let my first blog be about the hot topic in the cricket world today- Sourav Ganguly.
Ganguly's place in the team is certainly a question mark today. The resignation furore surrounding Sourav Ganguly continues. Ganguly himself has confirmed this statement in his interview to "The Hindu". He has told that he was asked to step-down as a captain by some official. He also refused to disclose the name of the person concerned ,whereas the coach Greg Chappel remains tight-lipped regarding this issue.

Despite so many chances , Ganguly failed to make an impression. When the opportunity presented itself during the Sri Lanka tour, He scored a lethargic 50 off 101 balls in the first one-dayer. That was not at all an impressive come-back kind of an innings for a batsman of his caliber. Even in this current Zimbabwe tour, he was struggling and seraching for gaps. The hundred he scored against Zimbabwe in the first test was totally out of character. That innings was described as "workmanlike innings" by the media. It came off 269 deliveries, with a strike rate of less than 50!. Having got the feeble bowling attack , Ganguly should've played all his shots which he used to play some 2 years back.

On the other hand, as far as Ganguly is concerned, this hundred is very crucial. He was under tremendous pressure when he came out to bat. All eyes were on him..... people around the world were keen to see how he places his innings in this test match. The left hander himself knew that he will never get a better chance, with only one more test match left in the tour and if the top-order fires in the next match then there would be a very minimal scope for him to score a 50 or a 100 in that match. He just wanted to occupy the crease as long as he can. That was what he did exactly on that day.

Many people say that he should not remain as the captain of the side anymore. I think that there is no point in taking away the captaincy from him. He is indeed a very good captain and there is no question about that. He has done well as a captain in the past and he was the one who re-built the Indian team. He was the one who explored the talents of people like Zaheer,Kaif,Harbhajan and Yuvraj. The question here is, whether he is really worthy for holding a place in the team as a player today. He has been given numerous chances by the team management despite his poor perfomances in both versions of the game. The last hundred he scored in a one-dayer was against Kenya in the 2003 World Cup! It has been two long years since Ganguly reached the three-digit mark in a ODI.

If the team management decides to retain him in the squad, then he should be retained as the skipper of the Indian team. If not, he should be dropped from the squad. Dropping out doesn't really mean throwing him away from the side, but he should be given a break to come-back. Ganguly on the other hand, should gain confidence by playing county cricket or some domestic competitions. He should put up some stunning perfomances to justify his selection to the Indian team. Unlike they do to the other players, the board should call him back to the side when his perfomances are satisfactory.

All the Cricket fans, including me are longing to see Ganguly blazing away like he did in the historic final match of the Natwest Series against England... Let's see what happens.

Come back DADA.....
